As a kid, nothing beats the feeling of receiving. But as we grow older, we realize that he best feeling in the world comes from giving. But why choose between receiving and giving when you can enjoy both with CBTL’s The Giving Journal.

Every year, Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf invites its patrons to Brew Your Best Year with The Giving Journal. And this year is no different. With the Holiday 2016 Theme #GiveFlavorfully, CBTL hosted its first ever Holiday Launch in Davao City.

The event’s highlight is the launch of The Giving Journal 2016. The Giving Journal is named as such because a portion of the proceeds of your CBTL purchases go to a special cause.

CBTL has partnered with the Real LIFE Foundation to support the educational needs of the less fortunate. Since it has launched The Giving Journal in the Philippines in 2011, CBTL has sponsored 38 university scholars. Of the 28, 13 have already graduated. These students have been given the chance to fulfill their dreams and the dreams of their families.

The Giving Journal is a token that reminds CBTL patrons that they are part of CBTL’s efforts to help the community. And through The Giving Journal, CBTL shares the joy of giving this holiday season.

For the Holiday 2015 Season, CBTL has crafted beautiful journals which inspires its owners to be more and do more for themselves and for others. It contains pages for crafting your goals, your 2016 mantra, and even your travel plans for the year. Plus, every month, there is a simple theme that will inspire your to brew your best year.

My Moleskine Story

In the early days of the “Philippine Blogosphere,” one of the trending must-haves (when “trending” wasn’t really even a word yet) for bloggers is a Moleskine Notebook.

This Christmas, I got my second and third Moleskine notebooks. My first one was from my cousin Gwing who bought me a Special Edition Red Moleskine Notebook years ago. (Thanks, Gwing!) My second moleskine is the Starbucks 2016 Planner from Starbucks.

And here is my third one from Chimes Boutiques.

It is a 2015 – 2015 Weekly Notebook Diary/Planner. And I am over the moon with happiness. It brought me back to way back when all bloggers wanted one. Every Moleskine I get, I get a tingling feeling. And lucky me, all three have been gifts. Each time I get a Moleskine, I get a different kind of excitement.

The Moleskine Story

Why? You ask. It is the notebook made in same mold as those used by legendary artists, writers, and thinkers. Who wouldn’t want to write in the same notebook that Vincent van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, and Ernest Hemingway drew and wrote in? Back then, they doodled and brought their thoughts to life in a simple black rectangle notebook. From sketches, notes, stories, and ideas, famous paintings and beloved books were borne. English writer Bruce Chatwin called it the “Moleskine.” By mid-1980s, the moleskine became scarce. Eventually, it became extinct.

But only temporarily. In 1997, the Moleskine was brought back by a small Milanese publisher. To inspire new thinkers and artists, he maintained and used the name Moleskine.

Moleskine has grown to be a premium brand of tools and services. From notebooks, they now produce pens, apps, and other related tools and services to accompany you through your journey of creativity, thoughts, and ideas. From notebooks, Moleskine has even gone digital with the Moleskine app and a growing Online Moleskine Community.
