Ellana Mineral favorites

Ellana was one of the brands I really wanted to try many years ago when I first got interested in makeup. Back then, mineral makeup was the en vogue thing and highly recommended for people with sensitive skin. Last year, I was able to finally order and try Ellana Mineral Cosmetics. Thanks to their promo deals! And after a few months of using it, I can now share with you my Ellana Mineral favorites.

DD + CC Primer with Airless Pump Bottle

Let’s start with this awesome all-in-one skincare and makeup primer in one.

The Daily Defense + Color Correcting Primer with Japanese Tsubaki Extract and SPF 30 Broad Spectrum or DD+CC Primer is an awesome primer if I am in a hurry.

Cleanse your face. Apply toner. Apply the DD+CC Primer and apply your favorite loose or pressed powder and you’re almost ready to go. This is definitely the perfect moisturizer + sun block + base + primer for powder. It helps the powder adhere and stay on better.

However, if you plan on applying liquid or cream foundation, you might want to reconsider using this. I have an oily, oily face and I find that the DD+CC Primer does not work well for me when used as a primer for liquid foundation.

You can buy it in a pouch (with new packaging) for PhP899 from the Ellana Store on Lazada via this link. I think the pouch is handy for travel. I would recommend getting an Airless Pump Bottle, as well. It is priced at only PhP299. When you buy the two together, the bundle is priced at PhP 1,197.

Multipurpose Pressed Pigments

Ellana Mineral Cosmetics became popular because of their skin safe and hypoallergenic, multipurpose mineral products. Of course, I had to buy and try those. Among the multipurpose pigments that I got, I like two in particular: Butter Rum and Fulfillment.

I love highlighters. So it is really not a shock that I got three multipurpose pigments for highlighting, the Butter Rum Multipurpose Pressed Pigments, the Dream Multipurpose Loose Pigments , and the Shine Multipurpose Loose Pigments. Among the three, the Butter Rum is my pick. It is my most favorite among all the powder mineral cosmetics I tried, to be honest.

The Ellana site describes Butter Rum as a “silky, iridescent gold pressed powder blends well with the skin and gives off a natural glow specially for fair skin. It’s the perfect shade that’ll accentuate your features, use it as an eye shadow or as a highlighter.

I use it for highlighting my under eye area so I would have a more glowing, awake look. I also use it to highlight my brow bone, nose, my cupid’s bow, and the area between my brows. When I have a nice matte eyeshadow that I want to give a bit of shimmer, I top it off a bit with Butter Rum.

I gives off a nice iridescence to my look, perfect for achieving a nice glass skin look. Get it for only PhP199 at this link.

Blush + Highlighter in One

The Fulfillment Multipurpose Pressed Pigments is another one of my Ellana Mineral favorites.

Way before Living Coral was announced as the 2019 Pantone Color of the Year, I was already into peach and coral shades for my cheeks and lips. I find that it suits my yellow undertone better than most pink shades.

The Ellana Site invites you “Let’s get you glowing with this peach coral with fine gold glimmer pigments. Use it as an eyeshadow, highlighter or even as a blush! Anything and everything is possible with our Fulfillment Pressed Powder. Be radiant, stay radiant!”

True to this, Fulfillment is the perfect peach coral pigment that can get you glowing, no matter what your skintone or undertone is. I use this pigment as a two in one highlighter and cheek color if I want an understated but glowing look. I tried it on my lids but I found it a bit blah. But again, it provided a subtle glow to my lids.

It is a good dupe of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Illuminator in Peach Nectar. It has less shimmer but it is just enough for a subtle daytime look. Get it at this link.

Each Multipurpose Pressed Pigment costs P199 only. It is probably the best multipurpose makeup product in the market. It only comes as a refill so you would have to put it in a magnetic palette if you plan to bring it with you in your day bag or when you travel.

Lip in Luxe

While Ellana is not known for their lippies, I just had to buy one and try it out.

It was overwhelming to choose a shade to try but I found it cute that they name their lippies with “Love is….” I chose Love is the Answer randomly and was happy to find out it had a tinge of purple. My favorite go to lippie color.

It is described as “a sassy mauve with purplish undertone, perfect for for both day and night look. A two in one lipstick shade that fits all skin shades.” On point.

My all time favorite lippie is Lumiere 2 by Coloupop. And Ellana’s Love is the Answer is my answer. Ok, that was lame but yeah… Love is the Answer is a good substitute. The color and finish is almost the same. And it also lasts as long. I should really do a side by side comparison soon.

The better news? Ellana Lip in Luxe is only PhP499.

Stay Fresh Setting Spray

And to keep everything in place, Ellana has a really great setting spray.

The Ellana Cosmetics Stay Fresh Setting Spray does keep me stay fresh for hours. Not for an entire day, really but for about 4 to 12 hours, depending on where I am.

You see, I have an oily face plus I am super sweaty. So I am always searching for products to help my favorite makeup products stay on. The Ellana Stay Fresh Setting Spray is superb in setting my makeup. I sometimes bring it with me to refresh my look if I have a long day.

It comes in a convenient 60 mL bottle that costs PhP599. It is a bit pricey than other setting sprays but it’s efficacy and the awesome subtle fragrance make it worth the price.

More Ellana Mineral Favorites

Another awesome thing about Ellana is how immersive their company is when it comes to offering vegan, cruelty free, mineral makeup. They have makeup products, tools, and accessories that are not only skin safe, but are also environment-friendly and socially responsible.

These tools and accessories might seem a bit unnecessary and pricey but here are the reasons why these are also my Ellana Mineral Favorites.

Gaia and Phoebe Magnetic Palettes by Ellana Mineral Cosmetics

I love the Ellana Mineral Pressed Pigments. However, it only comes in refills. Mind you, I do not think it is to force you to buy their magnetic palettes. It is to encourage being eco-friendly and being mindful about unnecessary waste. That said… if you do not have a magnetic palette yet, the Ellana Gaia and Phoebe Magnetic Palettes are great options.

The Gaia Magnetic Palette is a 50 mm x 100 mm palette. It can fit 2 mineral pressed powders, 8 multipurpose pressed pigments or color creams, or 1 mineral press powder plus a combination of 4 multipurpose press pigments or color creams.

When I need a go-to palette to bring to a whole day of events, I bring the Gaia Magnetic Palette and fill it with my Ellana Mineral Pressed Powder Foundation, and 4 Pressed Pigments. Buy the Gaia here.

If I need something more compact, I go for the Phoebe Magnetic Palette which is about half the size. It can fit one Pressed Powder or 4 Pressed Pigments. Get it here.

Note that both are made of paper but has each one comes with a mirror. The Gaia sells for PhP499 and the Phoebe sells for PhP349.

Must-Have Brush for Travellers

My favorite makeup brush to bring along is the Ellana Dual Headed Brush. The Stay Gorgeous Dual Head Retractable Brush is perfect compact tool I need for travel.

The more compact end is for applying liquid or cream foundation, correctors, and concealer.

Meanwhile, I use the fluffy end for applying powder foundation, and can also be used for powder contour, blush, and highlighter. Just make sure to clean both ends all the time. You can easily clean it on the go with makeup remover wipes or instant dry makeup brush cleaners.

It is compact, just the right size, and comfortable to use. The Stay Gorgeous Brush is priced at only PhP899. It is worth every peso you spend on it. Get the Stay Gorgeous Brush in Rose Gold at this link.

Repurchase?

If I ever use up all these and need to buy more, I would definitely buy again from Ellana. They have more products and I have tried their other products but these are the ones that work well for me and are definitely part of my regular makeup routine.

And to put it all in one place, do not forget to buy one of their gorgeous makeup pouches.

I got the Ellana Tropical Paradise Makeup Pouch in Blue with a bundle deal and I love it. It is so pretty that I was able to use it as my cluth when I attended an out of town wedding and forgot to bring a hand bag. You can still buy this and other equally gorgeous Ellana makeup pouches for PhP399.
