Zenfone Max Pro M2 Game Play Header

Playing Games with the ZenFone Max Pro M2

Perhaps one of the things anybody wants in their smartphone is better battery life. This is especially true for busy multitaskers and travelers. It’s true for me. Recently, I had spent some time with the Zenfone Max Pro M2. Sharing with you here my first post about it. Here is my game play experience with the Zenfone Max Pro M2.

Last December, Asus Zenfone released a new, more powerful version of their Max phone. It promised to combine the power of the flagship Zenfone line and the long battery life of the Max series. The Asus Zenfone Max line is marketed as the #BatteryKing due to its high mAh batteries. This is a favorite among mobile gamers. So when I got my hands on one, the first thing I did was give it a full charge. Then I downloaded and played my favorite mobile games.

The four games I played on the Zenfone Max Pro M2 are Pokemon Go, Candy Crush Soda, Plants vs Zombies, and Looney Tunes World of Mayhem.

Battery Life

First off, yes, the Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 comes with a 5000 mAh battery. It promises up to 10 hours straight of gaming. I was not able to play 10 hours straight since I have other things to do. But I played 4 games on and off throughout around 12 hours. And I still had 41% left after the 12 hours.

To compare, my other smartphone had to be charged twice throughout the same period.

So if you are serious about mobile games, this is a big plus for the Zenfone Max Pro M2.

All four games required WiFi or mobile internet connection. I was connected to our home’s PLDT Fibr. I was also playing the same or similar games on and off on my other smartphone to compare.

All four games had a bit of different game play experience on the Max Pro M2 and on my other smartphone. It was miniminal and almost unnoticeable.

However, I found that the Max Pro M2’s touchscreen is less sensitive than my other phone. So if you have long fingernails like mine or prone to just lightly touching your screen when playing, it may be a bit difficult or annoying.

The games’ graphics and sound quality on the Zenfone Max Pro M2 is superb. The display is sharp and the audio is just right. The best way to describe it is it is not “basag.”

Other Factors

One thing that worried me about the Zenfone Max Pro M2 is how glossy the back finish it. I was thinking it would make the unit slippery and difficult to hold while playing games. It did not at all. The curved back actually made the unit easy to hold.

The home button was quite disorienting initially. I was not used to not having a physical home button. But I got used to it after a while.

All in all, the Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 offers a good game play experience. Well, at least for the four games I tried it with.
