The rainy season has begun. And I have tons of recommendations for you. From water-proof makeup to the perfect slip ons, check out my July 2019 Favorites… all my recommendation for the rainy days.

I have been meaning to share a few of my favorites and a few of the stuff I plan to buy. Unfortunately, I never got around to it. Now that we are at the second half of the year, I have complied a list of my essentials and a few that I are already in my cart.

Skin Care

Whatever the season is, good skincare is a must. And I credit My Skin Origins for my glowing skin.

My Skin Origins is my trusted skincare brand for many years now. A few months ago, they introduced the Asian Glow Set designed to give its users dewy, smooth, moisturised skin with an even glow akin to the popular “glass skin” look.

Two of my favorites from the Asian Glow line are Stay and Breathe.

Stay is a glowing peptide serum. I apply it day and night to hydrate my skin and leave it feeling smooth and supple. Plus, it has a wonderful smell that reminds me of baby powder. I used to hate applying serums and moisturizers but this one is so light and definitely not sticky at all.

Breathe is an oxygenated day cream with SPF 45 that you can use as sun block or as makeup base. I use this daily, even when I do not go out of the house. When going out I use it under my foundation or as my base for a no makeup, fuss-free look. I bring the My Skin Origins Breathe everywhere.

Makeup

If you are more comfortable wearing foundation, I highly recommend the L’Oreal Infallible Fresh Wear 24H Liquid Foundation.

Lightweight with medium to full coverage, it can last up to 12 hours without touchups. And I have super oily skin. This is a great upgrade from my old favorite, the L’Oreal Infallible Stay Fresh. It leaves a fresh dewy look, perfect if you do not want a matte finish. Get this from the L’Oreal Flagship Store in Lazada for only P650 at this link.

July 2019 Favorites: Local Makeup Brands

For those who want easy to use, affordable, multi-use products, I have 3 on my July 2019 Favorites. All by local brands that I highly recommend.

First, the Colourette Colourtint in Thalia. This has been my favorite for more than 2 years now. It is highly pigmented. Affordable. And versatile. It is give you a subtle blush or a an intense super drunk blush look. Depending on the amount you use and the application. Perfect on the cheeks and also a great tint for the lips. Second, the blk Intense Eyeshadow in Hello. This is my go-to eyeshadow when I want to give a bit of color to my lids but do not have time to work on it. Swipe it on. Blend. And you are good to go. You can also use it to top your lippie or to give you a bit of shimmer above your cheeks.

Finally, here is my current favorite highlighter: the Careline Strobe Stick. I was super stoked when I got this during the Ever Bilena Beauty Fiesta event here in Davao. And I have used it every time I wear makeup. I use it to highlight below my eyes, above my cheekbones, on my nose bridge, and in other spots that I want to highlight. #HighlighterisLIFE

Ultimate 3-in-One

And here’s a cute but hard-working product that every girl must-have in her arsenal.

Local brand Happy Skin launched another Disney collection. This time, the products are designed with modern princesses in mind. Chill. No frills. Easy-going. And one product stood out: the Nap Queen Multi-Use Mousse. It is a Carnation Pink mousse that may be used on the eyes, cheeks, and lips. It is lighweight, pigmented, and long-lasting. When choosing items for my closet, I comfort is the thing I keep in mind. I sweat heavily. Even when inside an airconditioned room. So even when it’s rainy or cold, I pick clothes and accessories that are comfortable to wear.

My favorite clothing line is undoubtedly Uniqlo AIRism. And now they have a hoodie that can keep me warm but still feeling cool and fresh. It is made with Cool Touch fabric and has quick-drying technology. The UV Cut technology protect the skin from the sun. Plus, it is comfortable to wear, lightweight, and hugs the body nicely.
