Hailey Organics Multi-Use Cream Blush

Lately, I have been using less makeup products. It’s a matter of saving time when preparing to go out. And in the spirit of trying to be a better person, it makes sense to also try to lessen the stuff I bring in my daily bag. Same goes for my makeup kit when I travel. So multi-purpose makeup products always excite me. One of the products I have been loving is the Hailey Organics Multi-Use Cream Blush.

Hailey Organics is a local indie makeup brand. It is based and was first launched in Cagayan de Oro. Just a few months ago, they launched their first stall here in Davao. A few steps away from my house, in fact.

Unfortunately, I was not able to join the launch event but I heard so many good things from other bloggers who were able to attend the event. Hailey Organics has a handful products with just a few shades available per product. But the good news is all the shades are wearable. Better news: most Hailey Organics products are multi-use. And the best news: all of their products are priced at below PhP200.

Needles to say, I was excited to try their products.

Multi-Use Cream Blush

Right before an out of town trip, I dropped by Hailey Organics Davao with the goal of checking out their products. I wanted to buy a pot of the “You Make Me Blush” Multi-Use Cream. I planned to buy the shade that other bloggers had raved about: Boss Babe.

I had already gotten a Boss Babe when I noticed that there were testers of all Hailey Organics products. I was able to swatch the much raved about cream blushes.

Upon swatching, I loved the creamy texture of the product. It glides smoothly but it is not greasy. All the shades may seem similar. Apologies for the poor photo quality. In reality, all four shades are distinct but all are wearable. I surmise, all four could fit any skintone of most Filipinas: morena, chinita, or mestiza.

The 4 Shades of Blush

Boss Babe, as recommended by other bloggers, is the versatile shade. It is a nude shade of brown that could be worn anytime, any day. On the cheeks, lips, and even on the lids.

Peach Sunset is somewhere between peach and orange. It is perfect for achieving a warm glow. A nice shade to have on your cheeks when you have a nice tan. Or while you are getting that tan. It will go well with bronzer.

Brick Brown is a deep shade of brown that is perfect for your daily makeup for school or work. Or when you want a bit of color on your lips when you are out for errands or to go grocery shopping. I think it can also be used for contouring the face.

Dusty Rose is a subtle shade of pink perfect for a subtle blush for day looks. And it can be built up to a more intense shade to achieve a striking drunk brush look for the evening or for special events.

Dusty Rose Blush

I ended up buying the Multi-Use Cream Blush in Dusty Rose for several reasons. First, Boss Babe is almost the same as my multi-use cream from another brand. Again, I am trying to scale down my makeup kit.

Second, I love having purplish red and rose pink blush products. Be it tints, creams, or powders, buildable blush products can easily be used to give a glow. Or to make me look less blah even when I barely wear makeup. It just so happens that purplish red and rose pink complements my skintone well. Those shades are my go-tos when I want to look “naturally” and “effortlessly” good.

Dusty Rose Makeup Looks

I have used my Hailey Organics Multi-Use Cream Blush in Dusty Rose several times. It was the only blush product I brought to Cagayan de Oro last August.

Since then, I have used my tints less and the cream blush more. I realised that my tints were perfect for intense blush looks. But for a subtle, glowing, dewy look, the Hailey Oganics Cream Blush is perfect for me.

When used on my cheeks as blush, I noticed that it indeed gave me a nice but subtle glow that lasted from lunchtime to uhmmm… early morning. Even when I was too sweaty from the parties, the product left a tint of color on my cheeks. It works perfectly to give my skin a nice glass skin effect.

(Thanks also to my excellent skincare routine and my highlighters! More on those on future posts.)

As a cream blush, the Hailey Organics Multi-Use Cream Blush in Dusty Rose is my curent favorite. And I highly recommend it. But the color is not too intense and tends to fade a bit over time. Especially if you are as sweaty as I am. But worry not, you can easily retouch. Blot your facial oil or sweat carefully. Dab on a bit of the product and blend carefully. Even over face powder. I have tried retouching several times in a night and it never got greasy or too heavy.

Cream Blush + Highlighter

Cream blush, I discovered, is the perfect base to make highlighters look better. The cream helps the powder highlighters adhere to the skin better. Plus, the dewy finish of the cream blends well with the shine of the highlighter.

Dusty Rose works best and blends excellently with purple highlighters. It can also work well with white, pastel, and light yellow highlighters. Just make sure the powder highlighter is really fine. Or use strobing cream. And blend, blend, blend.

A dewy blush and a highlighter might seem like too much. But if you blend well and apply the highlighter just right on the apple of your cheeks, it comes off really well.

On the Lids and on the Lips

I also use the Hailey Organics Multi-Use Cream Blush on my lids as primer for my eyeshadow. Or on days when I don’t really want to apply eyeshadow but want to have a bit of color on my lids, the Dusty Rose shade is perfect. I set it with a bit of my favorite setting powder. That is enough to stay on my oily lids for about 4 hours.

On the lids, it does grease up and crease easily. So it does not last as cream eyeshadow. However, it does work well as shadow base and primer. Just make sure to blend your shadow over it well so it sets properly.

As a lip tint, it blended on my lips well. But the color is just enough to make my lips look like it has an even color. So I tried to use it as a base for my tints, as well. It also moisturizes my lips well. So my matte lippies look less matte.

And same goes for the lips. The tint is a bit faint. But it can be used to moisturise and even out the color of your lips.

The Multi-Use Cream Blush is a versatile product that can help you achieve a dewy, asian glass makeup look. It is priced at only PhP180.

Hailey Organics also has Blotted Lippies, Wing It Eyeliners, and Brows Before Brows Brow Pencils. Planning to buy more of these. I’m just waiting for their sale.

Yes, you read that Hailey Organics Davao will have a PhP10 OFF sale from October 15 – 31. The Cream Blushes and all other products will be on sale.
